In fall 2025, I began my legal education at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law as a Carolina Law Research Scholar. Eventually, I want to open a law firm and take as many pro bono cases as possible to give back to my community. This website will provide you with an overview of my undergraduate experience.
An Overview of My Undergraduate Experience
Previously, I was a Scholar Recruitment Student Coordinator with UofSC Scholar Recruitment team in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Through this position, I founded and led a Scholar Recruitment Student Advisory Committee of Honors College students and Top Scholars from diverse backgrounds.
I planed, organized, and led semesterly meetings to add current students' perspectives on every step of the university's scholar recruitment process. I also planed for and engaged with prospective students at recruitment events as a representative of the Honors College. Additionally, I communicated directly with applicants and admitted students via Slate, phone calls, hand-written letters, and email.
I completed my Honors College senior thesis entitled, Propaganda or Principle? A Historical Analysis of the Experiences of African Americans and Their Quest for Racial Equality in Soviet Russia and the Soviet Union 1932-1947. I also worked as an undergraduate research assistant for an Honors College faculty member doing research on the University's first African American professor, Richard T. Greener. I had the honor of being an Orientation Leader for the Honors College summer of 2022. I was also selected to be a South Carolina Honors College State Government Program 2022-2023 cohort member. In this program, I had the opportunity to learn from prominent state government officials about South Carolina's government operations in the fall semester, and I interned with the Office of International Student and Scholar Support in the spring semester.
I was a student assistant with the Office of Access and Opportunity at the University of South Carolina from 2023 through graduation. Through this position, I have enjoyed working with the administrative staff to complete research projects and assist with diversity initiatives and programs for the university. These projects include compiling comprehensive databases on training programs for the university's staff, programs that provide housing for newly hired faculty, and scholarship programs for Indigenous students. I also represent the office when greeting visitors, speaking at university events, and maintaining the front desk and office phone lines. I have worked as Peer Leader for the Student Success Center. Specifically, I was a Marketing Intern and served on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Advocacy (DEIA) Council. I was also an Academic Engagement Summer Intern for the Student Success Center (Summer 2022).
Some of my awards and honors include the USC MLK Social Justice Student Award (link to learn more), USC President’s Award Recipient, USC Outstanding Senior Award Recipient, NAACP Creative Sole Scholar, Honors College Senior Marshal Dec. 2024, SC Honors College Dean’s Scholar, USC Diverse Media Scholar.
I enjoy volunteering with my church, reading, exercising, and spending time with my family. I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa (Alpha Chapter of South Carolina), Phi Alpha Delta (pre-law) and Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society; I am the Co-President for the National Black Law Students Association Pre-Law Chapter and the Publicity Chair for the Black Honors Caucus. I am a member of and volunteer with UofSC Girl Gains (a nationwide college organization aiming to empower women in the weight room), and the No Periods Left Behind Advocacy Group.
